Berry ran in the 2012 election for Michigan House of Representatives District 5. He ran against Tonya Renay Wells, Fred Durhal, Jr., Cynthia Ann Johnson, Mark Murphy, Jr., and Nathaniel Nathan in the Democratic primary on August 7.[1][2]
