Rhoda Jacobs is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. She has represented District 42 since 1979. Jacobs is presently the Assistant Speaker of the Assembly. Her previous political experiences include assistant speaker pro tempore for the New York State Assembly and chairperson of the Majority Program Committee, New York State Assembly.

Jacobs earned a BA and MA from Brooklyn College. She and her husband, Jerome, have three children.[1]

Jacobs defeated Michele Adolphe in the September 14 Democratic primary. She defeated Alan Kesler (R) in the general election on November 2.[2]
