Richard Gottfried (b. May 16, 1947) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. He has represented District 75 since 1970. Gottfried's other political experiences include State Committee member for New York State Democratic Committee; deputy majority leader and chair of codes committee for New York State Assembly; and district leader of New York County Democratic Executive Committee.

Gottfried's professional experiences include law clerk and attorney.
