He was a 2012 Americans Elect candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of Arizona.

He was also a 2012 Green Party candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 8th Congressional District of Arizona. He was defeated in the special election primary on April 17, 2012.
