Richard H. Smith (b. March 9, 1945) is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 134. Smith has represented the district, previously the 131st District, since 2005. He was a non-partisan City Counselor in Columbus, Georgia from 1997-2002.

Smith is retired. He has served as County Director for the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service in Columbus from 1983-2002, and in Polk County from 1981-1983.

Smith is an Ordained Deacon at Parkview Baptist Church of the Columbus Rotary Club, founding member of the Chattahoochee Valley Community Foundation Board, former President of the Chattahoochee Valley Fair and Exposition, and member of the First Baptist Church in Columbus. [1]

Smith ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 134. Smith ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. He was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [2][3]
