Ricky Donovan, Sr. is a 2014 Republican candidate for District 63 of the New York State Senate. He ran unsuccessfully as a 2012 Republican candidate for District 141 of the New York State Assembly.

Elections for the office of New York State Senate will take place in 2014. A primary election took place September 9, 2014. The general election will be held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Timothy M. Kennedy defeated Betty Jean Grant in the Democratic primary, while Ricky Donovan, Sr. was unopposed in the Republican primary. Dennis Nawojski was removed from the ballot before the Democratic primary. Kennedy is also running on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Donovan is also running on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Kennedy and Donovan will face off in the general election.[1]
