Ricky Long is a Republican member of the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 9 since 2010. Long ran in the 2012 election for Maine House of Representatives District 9.

Long has worked as a logger since graduating from high school. He also served 12 years as a selectman for the Town of Sherman, 6 of which he served as Chairman of the Board. Ricky was also a volunteer fireman for over 20 years, and for 10 of those years, serving as Fire Chief. He is a member of the NRA and has been a sportsman all his life.

Long graduated from Katahdin High School.

Long won re-election in the 2012 election for Maine House of Representatives District 9. Long ran unopposed in the June 12 Republican primary and defeated Patrick Hunt (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]

Long's opponents in the November 2 general election were Democratic candidate Patrick Hunt and Independent candidate Robert Zabierek. According to unofficial results, Long defeated Hunt and Zabierek in the November 2 general election. Republican incumbent Henry Joy was not eligible for re-election under Maine's term limits. [3]
