A River Rouge School District Levy Renewal proposal was on theNovember 6, 2012 election ballot in Wayne County, which is in Michigan.

If approved, this proposal authorizes the River Rouge School District to renew a property tax levy of 17.35 mills ($17.35 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for 10 years in order to fund the operations of the District. The estimated first year revenue from this tax is $3.3 million.[1]

Language on the ballot:

This proposal will allow the school district to levy not more than the statutory rate of mills on all property required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance.

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in the School District of the City of River Rouge, Wayne County, Michigan, be renewed by 17.35 mills ($17.35) on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of ten (10) years, 2013 to 2022, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2013 is approximately $3,300,000?[1][2]
