Swearingen is running in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 34. He defeated Alex Young in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012.[1] Swearingen will face Democratic primary winner Merlin Van Buren in the general election, which takes place on November 6, 2012. Incumbent Republican Dan Meyer is not running for re-election.[2]
