Robert Bacon is a Republican member of the Iowa State Senate. He has represented District 5 since 2011. On September 8, 2011, Bacon announced that he will seek the Iowa House District 48 seat in 2012. He is required by law to resign his Senate seat in February 2012, with the resignation taking effect on Jan. 1, 2013.[1]

Bacon has managed funeral homes since 1983. He is currently the owner of Bacon Funeral Homes in Maxwell, IA and Nevada. He has also served on the city councils of Freemont and Maxwell.
