Robert 'Bobby' Bunda (b. April 25, 1947) was a Democratic state senator in the Hawaii State Senate, representing the 22nd district from 1994-2010. He ran for lieutenant governor in 2010, losing in the primary.

Bunda served in the Hawaii State House of Representatives from 1983 to 1994. He joined the Hawaii State Senate in 1994 and was Senate President Emeritus from 2007-2010.

Bunda has served in the United States Air Force, Texas Army National Guard, and Hawaii National Guard. He was a Banking Executive from 1973 to 1979. He has been an Insurance Agent since 1979. He is currently also an Independent Businessman.

Bunda earned his B.S. from Texas Wesleyan College in 1974. He then attended Graduate Studies at the University of Dallas in 1975.

Bunda lost his bid for the Democratic nomination in the primary election.


On November 4, 2008, Bunda won re-election to the Hawaii State Senate from Hawaii's 22nd Senate District. Bunda ran unopposed in the general election. He raised $14,850 for his campaign.[1]
