Robert Grant is a Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 2 from July 1991 to 1994 and currently since 1997.

Prior to becoming a representative, Grant served as mayor of Cherokee for 16 years. Long active in the community, he has been involved with the American Legion, West Mineral Eagles and Pittsburg Elks Lodge #412 and currently with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Cherokee Gun Club.[1]

Policy Positions

Grant refused to take Project Vote Smart's Political Courage Test. The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[2]

Grant won re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 2. Grant ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated Jeff Locke (R) and Lawrence E. Monaghan (L) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5][6]
