Following his graduation from law school, Hanna was a litigation associate at the Cahill Gordon & Reindel law firm in New York. In 1990, he joined the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey. In 1997, he joined the Frauds Division at the U.S. Attorney's Office, where he subsequently served in a number of different roles. Hanna began working as a director in the Newark-based law firm of Gibbons P.C. in May 2006. He then served as Director of the Division of Law within the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety.[1]

Hanna has served as President of the New Jersey Public Utilities Board since December 2011.[1]



Hanna was appointed as President of the New Jersey Public Utilities Board by Gov. Chris Christie (R) on December 21, 2011. Hanna filled the vacancy left when Lee Solomon resigned.[2]
