Robert "Bob" Nonini (b. August 7, 1954) is a Republican member of the Idaho State Senate, representing District 3 since 2012. He previously served in the Idaho House of Representatives, representing District 5A from 2004 to 2012.

In addition to being a Representative, Nonini is a financial consultant.

Before serving in the Idaho House, Nonini was very active in the Idaho Republican Party. Nonini was a Chairman of all the county chairmen from 2002 to 2004 and is currently the Chairman of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee. Nonini served as Chairman of the Idaho Republican Party for Legislative District 4 from 1994 to 1998.

2011 Education Reform

Nonini has supported Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna's K-12 education reform package. The first bill was sent to the governor on March 9, 2011. That bill will restrict collective bargaining rights for teachers to salaries and benefits only. Additionally, tenure would be phased out for new teachers and existing teachers without tenure. "Through this plan, we are going to attract and retain more quality teachers in Idaho by offering a two-year contract, increased pay and the opportunity to earn bonuses," Nonini said.[1]

Nonini won election for State Senate in District 3. He was unopposed in the Republican primary on May 15 defeated Kristy Reed Johnson (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]

Nonini won re-election to District Seat 5A in 2010 against Democrat David Larsen. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on May 25th. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[4]
