Campaign themes

On his campaign website, Johnston's campaign themes are listed as "Family Values, Business Experiences, Innovative Solutions." He summarizes these beliefs:

"I believe that we spend too much time, and too much of your money on things that don't make Delaware a better place to live. I believe that the current strategy of trying to spend our way out of the recession will only lengthen and deepen the hole we are in. I believe that the troubles facing the state today and tomorrow cannot be solved with yesterday's solutions. I believe we need to face our problems head-on and stop focusing on who or what caused them, and instead work on ways to fix them. I believe that our state, like many others, is inefficient and ineffective because of partisan politics.[2]
