Robert South (b. February 13, 1968) is a Democratic member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Caledonia-3. He was first elected to the chamber in 2008.

Biography

South has received his high school diploma. South has worked as a Corporator for the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. He has also worked as a machine worker/Union President for Fairbanks Scales. Since 2005, South has been the Trustee of Public Funds for the Town of Saint Johnsbury. He has also worked as a Justice of the Peace since then.

South won re-election in the 2012 election for Vermont House of Representatives Caledonia 3. South was unopposed in the August 28 Democratic primary and won re-election in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]

South ran for re-election to one of the two positions in the Caledonia 3 District in 2010. He ran against Tim Persons (R), Gary Reis (R), and Brendan Hadash (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010. According to unofficial results South won one of the two seats in the district, but as of November 15 a recount is pending.[3]
