Rodger Mell Smitherman is a Democratic member of the Alabama State Senate, representing the 18th District since 1994. Senator Smitherman served as President Pro Tempore of the Alabama Senate from Thursday, February 5, 2009 until 2011.[1] He earned a B.B.A. from University of Montevallo and a Juris Doctorate from Miles Law School.
