Roger Reitz is a former Republican member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 22 from 2005 to 2013. He was previously a Representative on the Kansas House of Representatives from 2002 to 2004. He has also served as the Mayor/Commissioner of the Manhattan City Comission and the President and member of the Unified School District 383 School Board.

Reitz ran for re-election in 2012. He lost in the August 7 Republican primary against Joe Knopp and Bob Reader. The general election takes place on November 6, 2012.[6][7]

On November 4, 2008, Reitz was re-elected to the 22nd District Seat in the Kansas State Senate, defeating Rusty Wilson (D).[8] Reitz raised $82,578 for his campaign, while Wilson raised $168,758.[9]

Kansas Economic Freedom Index

The Kansas Economic Freedom Index is a project of Bob Weeks, creator of the blog Voice For Liberty in Wichita. The purpose of the Index "is to identify Kansas legislators who vote in favor of economic freedom — and those who don’t."[11] Legislators receive a rating from 0-100 percent based on their votes on bills promoting economic freedom.
