He is running against Bill Burch, Dianne Costa, James Dillon, Dave Garrison, Justin Hewlett, Charles Holcomb, Brian Matthews, Wes Riddle, Chad Wilbanks, Michael Williams and Ernie Beltz, Jr. in the May 29, 2012, Republican primary.
Williams and his wife, Patty, have two children.
