This measure sought to renew the current non residential property tax which is set at a rate of $18 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further ten years in order to help pay for operational costs in the school district.

The question on the ballot:
|To provide operating funds for the Romulus Community Schools, Wayne County, Michigan shall the limitation on the taxes that may be levied upon taxable property in the District be increased by 18.00 mills ($18.00 per $1,000 of Taxable Value), with all 18.00 mills to be levied on all property “except for” principal residence and other property exempted by law for a period of ten (10) years, 2012 through 2021 inclusive? The estimate of the revenue the School District will collect from combined taxes authorized herein if the millage is approved and levied in the 2012 calendar year is approximately $9,580,000.|
