Ron Sharp is a Republican member of the Oklahoma State Senate, representing District 17. He was first elected to the chamber in 2012.


Sharp earned a B.A. from Southeastern State College, a M.A. from Central State University, and a PhD in Political Science from Kensington University. [1]

Sharp ran in the 2012 election for Oklahoma Senate District 17. Sharp and Ed Moore advanced to the August 28 primary runoff, and Sharp defeated Ed Moore in the primary runoff election.[2] He was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]
