Ruben Vargas was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 30 of the New York State Senate. He ran unsuccessfully as a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 72 of the New York State Assembly.

Vargas was removed from the ballot before the primary.[1]

Elections for the office of New York State Senate will consist of a primary election on September 9, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Bill Perkins is unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Jon Girodes is unopposed in the Republican primary. Ruben D. Vargas was removed from the ballot before the Democratic primary. Perkins is also running on the Working Families Party ticket.[2]
