A San Francisco Budget Reform Charter Amendment, Measure A ballot proposal will be on the November 3, 2009 ballot in San Francisco.[1]

The proposed measure would:

  • Institute a two-year budgetary cycle
  • Require the adoption of a 5-year financial plan.
  • Adopt various financial policies
  • Set a deadline for the submission of MOUs for all labor unions.

Proposition A is supported by a majority of San Francisco's supervisors and by Gavin Newsom. Newsom said that getting Proposition A passed is his "No. 1 priority."[2]
