A San Francisco Creation of a Housing Trust Fund, Proposition C ballot question was on the November 6, 2012 ballot for voters in San Francisco where it was approved.

Proposition C created a San Francisco Housing Trust Fund.

Support

Proposition C was endorsed by the editorial board of the San Francisco Chronicle, writing, "This measure is a compromise that has drawn in groups concerned about subsidized housing, public policy and city finances. It's a modest way to dent the serious problem of finding modestly priced housing."[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Proposition C: "This measure will: 1) create a San Francisco Housing Trust Fund by setting aside general fund revenues beginning in Fiscal Year 2013-2014 and ending in Fiscal Year 2042-2043 to create, acquire and rehabilitate affordable housing and promote affordable home ownership programs in the City; and 2) lower and stabilize the impacts of affordable housing regulatory impositions on private residential projects; and to authorize the development of up to 30,000 affordable rental units in the City under Article 34 of the California Constitution."[2]
