A San Francisco No Advertising on City Property, Measure E ballot proposition was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in San Francisco, where it was approved.

  • Yes: 51,350 (57.41%) Approveda
  • No: 38,089 (42.59%)

Measure E prohibits new commercial advertisers on city property.[1]

Political reporter Melissa Griffin suggested to her readers, "Vote for this if you don’t want public buildings and street furniture to be so covered in ads that they resemble NASCAR vehicles. Vote against this if you figure no unsentimental city property should be off limits as a moneymaker."[2]
