Sandra Galef (b. May 7, 1940) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 95 since 2013. She previously represented District 90 from 1993 to 2013. Galef's other political experiences include president of New York State Association of Counties and county legislator and minority leader for Westchester County.

Galef is the host for two television shows: Dear Sandy and Speak-out with Sandy Galef. Her professional experiences also include teaching in various schools.

Galef earned a BS in education from Purdue University and a MEd in education from University of Virginia. She is widowed and has two children; Graig and Gwen.[1]

Galef ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 95. She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. She also ran on the Independence Party of New York State ticket. She defeated Kim Izzarelli in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]

Galef ran unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary. She defeated William Gouldman (R) in the general election on November 2.[4] In addition to running on the Democratic ticket, she ran on the Independence Party of New York State ticket.
