Cole worked as an Office Manager with Cole, Martin and Company from 1992-1996. She graduated from Rockford College in 1976 with a B.S. in Graphic Arts with a minor in Mathematics; she also received a secondary education teaching certificate.
When asked by the Grayslake Patch what her priorities upon re-election would be, she replied:
Key Issue 1: Jobs and small family-owned business retention and creation.
Key Issue 2: Property tax relief and reform.
Key Issue 3: Reduce government spending-spree and consolidate taxing districts.

|HB0259||Plastic Bag Recycling Act||Requires retailers that distribute plastic bags to consumers to implement a plastic bag collection and recycling program. Sets out plastic bag recycling program requirements. Provides that any retailer who knowingly violates the Act is guilty of a business offense punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.|
Cole is running for re-election to the 62nd District seat in the Illinois House of Representatives in 2012. She was unopposed in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012, and faces Sam Yingling in the November 6 general election.
