Sarah L. Copeland-Hanzas (b. July 9, 1970) is a Democratic member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Orange-2. She was first elected to the chamber in 2004.

Biography

Copeland-Hanzas earned her B.A. in History from the University of Vermont in 1992. One year later, she received a B.A. in Geology. She went on to receive her Teaching Certificate from Upper Valley Teacher Institute in 1995.

Copeland-Hanzas worked as a Teacher for Oxbow High School from 1995 to 1996. She also worked as Varsity Coach for Oxbow High School from 1993 to 2003. During this time, she was also Varsity Coach at Hanover High School. She has worked as a Saleswoman for the Copland Company Store since 1993.

She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Vermont Democratic Party Fundraising Committee as well.

Copeland-Hanzas won re-election in the 2012 election for Vermont House of Representatives Orange 2. Copeland-Hanzas was unopposed in the August 28 Democratic primary and defeated Mary Daly (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
