Special school tax

The voters of a Louisiana Parish (County) school district can vote via a referendum can vote for a special tax for capital improvements. This is protected in the Louisiana Constitution in Article VI, Section 32 of the Constitution's 1974 version.

The tax is limited to ten years at a interest rate of eight percent[1].
