Scott Benson is a member of the Detroit, Michigan City Council, representing District 3. He was elected to the council on November 5, 2013.[1]

In 2012, Benson was a Democratic candidate for District 1 of the Michigan House of Representatives. Benson was defeated by Brian Banks in the Democratic primary election on August 7, 2012.[2]

Benson was opposed by Brian Banks, Christopher Cavanagh, Valerie Kindle, and Gregory Robinson in the Democratic primary on August 7.[4] Benson was defeated by Brian Banks in the Democratic primary.[5]
