Ellington was defeated by incumbent Rick Crawford.[1] Ellington ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Arkansas's 1st District. He and state representative Clark Hall defeated Gary Latanich in the May 22 Democratic primary. Ellington then defeated Hall in the June 12 primary runoff election. He faced Rick Crawford in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]
