Sean Hanna is a former Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 130 from 2011 to 2013.

Hanna spent six years as a felony trial prosecutor for the Monroe County District Attorney's Office. He was later elected to the Monroe County Legislature where he became Deputy Majority Leader. He left when then-Governor George Pataki appointed him as the DEC Regional Director, and went on to become the lead trial attorney for County Executive Maggie Brooks.

Hanna earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Boston College and his J.D. from Wake Forest University. He and his wife Marlene live in Mendon, NY. They have two children, Katie and Aidan.

Hanna ran in the 2012 election for New York State Senate District 55. Hanna ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012; he also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Hanna was defeated by Ted O'Brien (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]

Hanna ran in the 2010 election for New York State Assembly District 130. He was uncontested in the September 14 Republican primary. Hanna defeated David R. Nachbar (D) in the general election on November 2.[3]
