Shane Cultra is a former Republican member of the Illinois State Senate, representing District 53 from 2011 to 2013. Cultra was selected to replace Dan Rutherford, who was elected Illinois Treasurer. He previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 105th District from 2003 to 2010.

Cultra is the former President of Onarga Nursery, and Girls Basketball Coach at Saint John's Lutheran School in Buckley.

He is Chair of the Grand Prairie Seminary Board of Trustees of the Lions Club, Onarga Christian Church, and Chair of the Onarga Community Center.[1]

Cultra won re-election to the 105th District seat against Green Party candidate Vince LaMie. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on February 2nd. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[5]
