Elections for the office of Michigan State Senate will take place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. David Knezek defeated five other candidates in the Democratic primary. Jennifer Rynicki was unopposed in the Republican primary. Knezek faces Rynicki in the general election. Incumbent Tupac Hunter (D) is not seeking re-election due to term limits.[2][3][4]
