Sherry Appleton (b. October 28, 1942) is a Democratic member of the Washington State House of Representatives, representing District 23. She was first elected to the chamber in 2004.

Biography

Appleton attended the University of Miami from 1960 to 1961.

Appleton was a member of the Board of Directors of both the Kitsap County Democrats and the 23rd Legislative District Democrats. She also served as Freeholder for the Kitsap County Charter Board, and was a member of the Poulsbo City Council.

She has been the owner of Sherry Appleton since 1993. Appleton was an Assistant Office Manager for Westinghouse, Marine Division, Eastern Test Range from 1971 to 1982. She then worked as a Sales Representative for Cloud Trading from 1985 to 1990.[1]

Appleton won re-election in the 2012 election for Washington House of Representatives District 23a. Appleton was unopposed in the blanket primary on August 7, 2012 and defeated Tony Stephens (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]

Sherry Appleton was re-elected to the Washington State House of Representatives District 23. She ran unopposed in the August 17, 2010 primary. She defeated Republican Pete DeBoer in the November 2, 2010 general election.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Democrat Sherry Appleton won re-election to the Washington House of Representatives, District 23 receiving 61.94% of the vote (39,835 votes), defeating Republican Larry Cooney who received 38.06% of the vote (24,479 votes).[5]
