Three statewide ballot questions will appear on the November 4, 2008 ballot in South Carolina. All three are legislatively-referred constitutional amendments proposed as amendments to the South Carolina Constitution by the South Carolina State Legislature.

The proposed amendments are:

  • South Carolina Amendment 1, which deletes the current provision in the constitution that no unmarried woman shall legally consent to sexual intercourse who has not attained the age of fourteen.
  • South Carolina Amendment 2, which provides that the funds of any trust fund established by law for the funding of post-employment benefits for state employees may be invested and reinvested in equity securities.
  • South Carolina Amendment 3, which provides that the funds of any political subdivision of the state that have been set aside for the funding of post-employment benefits for the political subdivision's employees may be invested or reinvested in equity securities.
