South Carolina 2008 ballot measures
Three statewide ballot questions will appear on the November 4, 2008 ballot in South Carolina. All three are legislatively-referred constitutional amendments proposed as amendments to the South Carolina Constitution by the South Carolina State Legislature.
The proposed amendments are:
- South Carolina Amendment 1, which deletes the current provision in the constitution that no unmarried woman shall legally consent to sexual intercourse who has not attained the age of fourteen. Measure Approved
- South Carolina Amendment 2, which provides that the funds of any trust fund established by law for the funding of post-employment benefits for state employees may be invested and reinvested in equity securities. Measure Defeated
- South Carolina Amendment 3, which provides that the funds of any political subdivision of the state that have been set aside for the funding of post-employment benefits for the political subdivision's employees may be invested or reinvested in equity securities. Measure Defeated
