Four measures have been certified for the 2010 ballot in South Dakota. In 2010 the General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 2.

Signature requirements

In 2010, citizen initiatives and legislatively referred petitions will both require 16,776 valid signatures (5% of the 2006 vote for governor) to qualify for the ballot. For citizen initiated measures, signatures must be filed by April 6, 2010. For legislatively referred measures, signatures must be filed within 90 days after adjournment of legislature at which the law was passed.

Constitutional amendments introduced by citizens will require 33,551 valid signatures (10% of the 2006 vote for governor) and must have signatures filed by November 2, 2009. [1]
