Signature requirements

In 2010, initiated statute and veto referendum petitions both required 16,776 valid signatures (5% of the 2006 vote for governor) to qualify for the ballot. For initiated statutes, signatures had to be filed by April 6, 2010. For veto referendums, signatures had to be filed within 90 days after adjournment of the legislature at which the law was passed.

Initiated constitutional amendments required 33,551 valid signatures (10% of the 2006 vote for governor) and had to be filed by November 2, 2009.[1]
