The South Dakota gubernatorial election will take place on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Dennis Daugaard (R) is eligible for re-election. The winner of the election will serve a 4-year term in office.

South Dakota is one of 21 states with a mixed primary system. Parties decide who may vote. Registered Democrats and unaffiliated voters may vote in the Democratic primary. Only registered Republicans may vote in the Republican primary.[1]
