Three Township Levy Increase measures were on the August 3, 2010 ballot in the townships of Speaker, Washington and Worth, which are in Sanilac County.

Two of the three measures were approved

The Speaker township measure sought to renew the current fire protection levy of $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further four years in order to further fund the purchasing and maintenance of fire equipment in the township.

  • NO 81 (28.93%)

The Washington township measure sought to renew the current cemetery levy of $.20 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further four years in order to help pay for the maintenance, upkeep and beautification of the township cemetery.

  • YES 160 (50.96%) Approveda
  • NO 154 (49.04%)

The Worth township measure sought to renew the current public safety levy of $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further ten years in order to further fund police and fire safety services in the township. [1]
