Stanley W. Lyson {b. March 5, 1936} is a Republican member of the North Dakota State Senate. Lyson's political experience started when he became a senator of the North Dakota State Senate in 1999. He currently holds this position.

Lyson began his professional experience in 1954 by enlisting in the United States Army until his service concluded in 1957. A few years later, in 1961, Lyson operated as Captain of the Williston Police Department in North Dakota. In 1981, Lyson became County Sheriff.

Stanley Lyson attended Minot State University and graduated from Northwestern University Traffic Institute in 1967. Afterwords, in 1973, Lyson attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation Nation Academy.

Stanley Lyson currently participates in a number of organizations including the American Legion, Elks, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is also the President of the North Dakota Association of Counties and the North Dakota Peace Officers Association.
