Stephen Gerling was a Republican candidate for District 18 of the Rhode Island State Senate. The primary election was on September 14, and the general election was on November 2.

Gerling was defeated by incumbent Democrat Frank Devall in the general election on November 2. Also defeated were independents James Miller and Isadore Ramos. Gerling was unopposed in the September 14 Republican primary.[1]
