Stephen Lafferty (b. February 28, 1949) is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates. He has represented District 42 since January 10, 2007.

Lafferty is Deputy Director of Department of Planning and Zoning in Howard County, and Director of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. He has previously served as Director of Special Projects and Planning, Division of Neighborhood Revitalization, Department of Housing and Community Development, Manager of the Baltimore County Office of Community Conservation, and an Attorney.

Lafferty is a member of the Towson Urban Design Assistance Team, Tomorrow's Towson Steering Committee, Maryland State Bar Association, Oyster Advisory Commission, and the Task Force to Study Group Home Education and Placement Practices.[1]
