Stephen Smith is a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the Twenty-Eighth Middlesex from 2007 to 2012. In late December 2012, Smith resigned as part of a plea deal in a voter fraud case. He will serve six months in jail and will be unable to run for public office for five years.[1]

Smith also serves as an Alderman for the City of Everett and is a business owner.

He is a member of the Carmen A. Schiavo Association, Everett Chamber of Commerce, Everett Elks, Kiwanis Club of Everett, Knights of Columbus, and the Schiavo Club of Everett.[2]

Smith won re-election in the 2012 election for Massachusetts House of Representatives Twenty-Eighth Middlesex District. Smith was unopposed in the September 6 Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]

Smith won election to the Twenty-eighth Middlesex Seat in 2010. He defeated John Hanlon in the September 14 Democratic primary. He defeated Dennis Giantassio (I) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[5]
