Davisson defeated Democratic candidate Ryan Bower by a margin of 11,300 to 8,015. Democratic incumbent Dennie Oxley, II did not run for re-election.[5] The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

In the May 4th primary, Davisson defeated Henry Taylor by a margin of 2,648 to 2, 078.[6]
