Steven M. Bieda is a Democratic member of the Michigan State Senate, representing District 9. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010. He currently serves as State Senate Assistant Minority Leader.

Bieda served in the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 25 from 2002 to 2008.

Biography

Bieda received his bachelor's degree and M.P.A. from Wayne State University, and his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Bieda also earned his Master of Tax Law degree from Wayne State University Law School. His professional experience includes working as Director of Labor Relations in the City of Warren, and Senior Policy Analyst for the Michigan House of Representatives. He designed the back side of the U.S. Olympic Half Dollar, which was issued by the U.S. Mint in 1992.
