Steven F. McLaughlin (b. October 4, 1963) is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 107 since 2013. He previously represented District 108 from 2011 to 2013.

He was trained as a commercial pilot and worked in this industry until being laid off following the September 11th attacks. After this, he began working with small businesses as a banker. He got his degree in Flight Technology from Florida Institute of Technology and his M.B.A. from Arizona State. He lives in Schaghticoke with his wife, Maggie, and their two sons, Danny and Sean.

McLaughlin ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 107. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. He defeated Cheryl A. Roberts in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [2][3]
