Stevens County Sales Tax Use Question (February 2010)
This measure was defeated by county voters, though their vote does not officially mean this tax will not be levied.
- YES 4,308 (32.54%)
- NO 8,932 (67.46%)
This measure was an advisory question that asks voters if the county should implement a increase of the sales tax by 1/10th of 1 percent in order to help fund the operation and delivery of chemical substances for the mentally ill in mental health programs.
While listed as an official question, the official ballot that was sent out did not contain the correct numbers so this question will not be counted as a vote by citizens. It was advisory anyways, so the county commissioners will make the decision about the increase for the mental health issues.
