A Summerfield Township Fire Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Summerfield, which is in Monroe County.

This measure sought to renew the current township fire levy which is set at a rate of $2 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for fire department operational costs in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Summerfield Township be renewed at 2 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of 2013 through 2016, inclusive, to provide funding for the Summerfield Township Fire Department; and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose during such period, thereby raising in the first year of such levy an estimated $240,484.92?[3]
